Sanavalli, Mundgod, Karnataka
A Century of Growth. A Future of Promise.
A 100-year conservation effort for East Indian Rosewood, paired with social empowerment around the land that sustains it.
The Model
Conservation that begins with land, science, and community.
Aranya Niran Rosewood Foundation was born from a deep, multi-generational relationship with East Indian Rosewood (Dalbergia latifolia). Today, our work unites farmland reforestation, nursery development, studying and improving regeneration of East Indian Rosewood deep in the forests of Karnataka. Along the way, we also want to empower the people around ANRF farmland in our own small way.
What we do
Two threads, one foundation.
Rosewood Conservation
Farmland reforestation, nursery care, and scientific pilot plots in the forests areas dedicated to the regeneration and documentation of Dalbergia latifolia in Karnataka.
Social Support
Support the people around Sanavalli, Mundgod by providing a platform where they can showcase their crafts and skills, to help provide alternative income pathways.
The Long View
A rosewood tree asks for patience.
True conservation operates on nature's timeline. We are building a foundation rooted in credible, field-based action, documenting the journey of East Indian Rosewood as it unfolds over generations. We secure the future for the artisans and ecosystems of tomorrow.
